Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system has proven effective, but the Palestinian Hamas movement still managed to damage it. This was stated by Russian military expert, Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

The expert assessed the damage as "colossal": according to Sivkov, with a massive missile strike, Israel is unable to repel absolutely everything. "If the missiles went on 50-60 pieces in a salvo, the probability of interception would be much less and was no more than 10-15 percent," - said the expert.

According to Sivkov, even if the missile defense system was 90 percent effective, more than a hundred missiles still reached the target. The expert called the rockets of the Palestinians flying at Israel "pipes filled with gunpowder". However, since the cost of Iron Dome projectiles is "10 to 100 times higher", defense could also turn into damage.

Rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israel amid violence near the border and in East Jerusalem after an Israeli court ordered the eviction of several Palestinian families from their homes in Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. A man shot dead two colleagues and fled with a gun in the French mountains of the Cevennes. This is reported by Le Figaro.

On May 11, the 29-year-old criminal came into conflict with the owner of a sawmill in the village of Plantier, where he worked. Instead, he shot his boss and another colleague and went on the run. A witness to the crime said that the man killed his boss with several shots to the head, and then shot a colleague who tried to intervene.

The police have not yet apprehended the fugitive. More than 200 gendarmes, several search dogs and six helicopters are involved in the search for him. According to the investigation, he "knows perfectly well the places where he is hiding", and has repeatedly hunted in these territories.
