Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has promised to defend the country in the "third World War", which, in his opinion, the European Union (EU) can start. This is reported by the Financial Times newspaper, RIA Novosti reports.
"What will happen if the European Commission starts the third World War? If she starts the Third World War, we will defend our rights with any weapon we have at our disposal," Moravetsky said. He warned that any action by the EU aimed at reducing funding would entail harsh retaliatory measures.
On September 7, the European Commission demanded to impose sanctions against Poland because of judicial reform. Exactly one month later, on October 7, the Polish Constitutional Court recognized the supremacy of constitutional law over European law.
Later, Mateusz Morawiecki made a sharp statement in the European Parliament on the current situation. "I cannot accept the situation when some politicians are blackmailing Poland and threatening it. I reject the language of threats and blackmail," he said, adding that this practice has become a method of constant communication with some members of the European Union.
