The Chechen field commander, an associate of the international terrorist Khattab - Murad Margoshvili, known as Muslim Abu Walid al-Shishani, met in a deadly clash in Syria with the militants of the terrorist group "Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham" (HTS, banned in Russia). This is reported in the Telegram channel WarGonzo.
It is noted that the conflict between the "veteran of jihad" and the HTS, which has been going on for several months, has moved into an acute military phase. According to sources, Margoshvili said the day before that he was leaving Idlib for the Latakia mountains, which are under the control of Syrians of Turkmen origin (Turkomans), but the leader of the KhTS, Mohammed al-Julani, sent several militant detachments after him. As a result, a clash ensued, there are dead and wounded.
Information about the plans of HTS to liquidate Margoshvili also appeared on the Twitter account of Joanna Paraschuk, an analyst at the British IHS Janes center. It is reported that opponents of the Chechen terrorist are trying to accuse him of having links with the Islamic State group banned in Russia, but Margoshvili has repeatedly denied this.
Earlier it was reported that HTS militants seized the headquarters of Shishani in Idlib, Syria. It was noted that the reason for the conflict between the militants was Margoshvili's refusal to come under the full control of the HTS. At the same time, a number of terrorist field commanders call the current course of the group betraying the values of "jihadism" and its radical ideology.
In the late 1990s Margoshvili joined the detachment of the international terrorist Khattab, who fought in Chechnya and Dagestan against federal forces. According to some reports, he participated in a battle near the Ingush village of Galashki, as a result of which 12 Russian officers and soldiers were killed. From 2008 until joining the Syrian conflict Margoshvili was engaged in terrorist activities in Dagestan. Until 2008, he spent several years in Georgia, where he arrived after two years of imprisonment in Russia.
