The last time the journalists got in touch was on December 3, at noon Moscow time. They said that they were detained by unknown persons, and later wrote that they were still in custody. On December 7, the term of their detention expired.
A source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti that NTV journalists allegedly did not have accreditation and were filming without permission in the area where the manufacturer of combat drones Baykar Savunma is located. As the editor-in-chief of the TV channel Alexandra Kosharnitskaya clarified, the detained journalists filmed several stories, one of which was devoted to the topic of coronavirus, and the second - to the production of drones, which explains their work in the area of ??the plant.

"Our diplomats are in contact with the Turkish side, we hope that through dialogue it will be possible to resolve this incident. And we expect, we hope that in the near future our journalists will be released," Russian President Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the situation. quoted by Interfax.
