The main topic of the talks to be held between the Russian authorities and US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland will be relations between Moscow and Washington. The main issue on the agenda of the upcoming meetings in Moscow was revealed by Nuland herself in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
A senior American diplomat flew to Moscow on Monday. She will stay in the capital from October 11 to 13. During the trip, she will, in particular, meet with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
As Assistant Secretary of State of the United States, Victoria Nuland took an active part in the Euromaidan in Ukraine, often visiting Kiev at the height of the protests. Since 2019, she has been on the black list of Moscow, she was banned from entering the territory of Russia. The Russian authorities agreed to organize Nuland's visit to Moscow after Washington promised to remove some Russians from the sanctions lists.
