The town of Karamysh in Gaziantep province in southeastern Turkey was shelled from Syria. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to local authorities.
"Today, three shells fired from the territory of Syria exploded in the Karkamysh area. There were no casualties, minor material damage was caused," the provincial administration said. An investigation has been launched into the fact of the shelling. It is assumed that representatives of the Syrian Kurdish "Democratic Union" are behind it.
On October 8, it became known that the US authorities extended sanctions against Turkey because of Ankara's actions in Syria. American President Joe Biden noted that the operations of the Turkish military in the northeast of Syria undermine the campaign to defeat the militants of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia).
