Руководитель крупнейшей энергетической компании Германии предостерег от введения газового эмбарго. «Мы вряд ли обойдемся в ближайшие две зимы без российского газа, если только не в ущерб нашей промышленности и экономике», — заявил Бирнбаум. По его словам, в случае отказа от газа у Германии не будет ни сталелитейной, ни химической промышленности, а последствия будут драматическими.

Оценивая перспективы отказа от российского газа, топ-менеджер E.ON отметил, что важно укреплять координацию в Европе, чтобы в случае внезапного прекращения поставок не столкнуться с теми же последствиями, что и после пандемии коронавируса. Бирнбаум подчеркнул, что такой сценарий весьма вероятен, если Россия «будет настаивать на оплате в рублях».

16 марта E.ON перестала закупать природный газ у российских поставщиков. В конце марта Бирнбаум заявил, что Германии потребуется три года, чтобы найти альтернативных поставщиков газа для снижения энергозависимости от России.

Оперативно-тактическая и армейская авиация Воздушно-космических сил (ВКС) России за день уничтожила 13 опорных пунктов Вооруженных сил Украины (ВСУ). Об этом в понедельник, 2 мая, сообщил журналистам официальный представитель Минобороны России генерал-майор Игорь Конашенков.

Как уточнили в ведомстве, удары были нанесены по районам сосредоточения живой силы и военной техники украинской армии.

Еще 12 опорных пунктов и 28 районов, где находилась техника и живая сила противника, были поражены российскими артиллерийскими подразделениями. В результате ударов были уничтожены около 170 националистов и 36 единиц техники и вооружения, заявили в Минобороны.

1 мая сообщалось, что российские средства противовоздушной обороны (ПВО) уничтожили две ракеты «Точка-У» и два бомбардировщика Су-24М ВСУ.
