B-1B Lancer strategic bombers deployed by the Air Force (Air Force) The United States in Norway, is "a message for Russia," writes The National Interest.
"Training with the Royal Norwegian Air Force in the European Theater of Operations and throughout the Arctic will further provide extensive and critical experience for flight crews, allowing both forces to conduct specific and thorough training missions," the publication says.The publication recalls that the US Air Force is gradually reducing the number of B-1B Lancer aircraft, which are replaced by low-profile strategic bombers B-21 Raider.
In February, in an interview with the Norwegian publication Nettavisen, the director of the Nuclear Information Project of the Federation of American Scientists, Hans Christensen, said that the deployment of US Air Force strategic bombers in Norway is a response to Russia's strengthening in the Arctic.
In the same month, The Drive said that the US Air Force will send B-1B Lancer strategic bombers to Norway for the first time "with an eye on the nearest Russia and the Arctic."
In May last year, the B-1B Lancer with military numbers 85-0060 and 86-60139 of the US Air Force for the first time in history appeared in the airspace of Ukraine.
