The head of the investigative department of the GSU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkiria will be tried for helping fraudsters. The policeman helped illegally return 42 cars to the dealership that were under arrest, the investigation regarded this as abuse of official authority. About this "Tape.<url>" on Wednesday, March 9, said the representative of the Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) in the republic Yevgeny Kanevsky.
According to the agency, in December 2019, the defendant, while on duty, accepted a criminal case against a car dealership whose employees were engaged in fraud when selling cars. They had at least 248 victims on their account with a total damage of over 35 million rubles. 42 cars belonging to the salon were seized as an interim measure.
The policeman canceled this arrest and issued the seized passports for the cars to the representative of the company, who provided documents proving the ownership of these cars. Later, some of these cars in the amount of 19 million rubles, the scammers managed to illegally sell.
The investigation believes that the policeman not only exceeded his authority, but also violated the interests of the victims, as he disposed of the property, due to which the damage caused is subject to compensation. He did not admit his guilt, the investigation has already completed the case and it will soon go to court.
