A Masters truly unlike any other.
Seven months after its original date, golfers will return to Augusta, Ga. The azaleas won’t be in full bloom nor will fans line the prestine fairways. But beggars can’t be choosers, and let’s not kid ourselves — at one point this year we were all begging for golf betting action.
The 2020 PGA Tour season returned in June to a revised schedule, which included the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and the Masters.
It feels like ages ago since Tiger Woods made a birdie on the 15th before slipping into his fifth green jacket. With the final major championship of the year finally here, it’s time to look at 2020 Masters odds across legal online sportsbooks as we make predictions and picks for the best four days in golf.

Will Augusta Be Bryson’s Playground?
After taking the Tour by storm in 2020, it’s Bryson DeChambeau who sits atop sportsbooks’ golf odds sheets for the Masters. 40 pounds heavier and hitting the ball what seems like miles longer, to say the 27-year-old’s game and physique underwent a transformation is to put it mildy. Though only scraping out with a single victory during an impressive spring, the mad scientist proved the haters wrong once and for all when he won what could be the first of many major championships. He didn’t just win — he dominated, lapping the field by six strokes in treacherous conditions. He was the only golfer to shoot under par at Winged Foot…and he shot six-under! That was no fluke, either; he nearly claimed the Wanamaker Trophy in May with a T4 finish.
Indeed, Augusta will allow DeChambeau to do what he does best. However, despite the big man’s recent dominance, there’s still plenty of competition and betting value to be found among the Masters field.
DeChambeau’s Biggest Threats.
And then there’s Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, and Justin Thomas.
Johnson, who tested positive for coronavirus in October, returns to play in his first event since the U.S. Open. He’s not the favorite at the Masters but he is currently the world’s top-ranked golfer. Though he has yet to place a green jacket in his wardrobe, we know Johnson loves this course. Meanwhile, McIlroy arrives in Georgia just a couple of weeks removed from an absolute birdie fest at the ZOZO Championship. He made nine birdies in the final round, which helped accumulate to his best birdie performance in his career. That’s good news if you’re considering playing him in DFS, or rooting for Rory to complete the career Grand Slam.
Bubba & Koepka Enter Masters Week In Form.
There are some intriguing storylines among the betting favorites, such as Brooks Koepka’s return from injury, whether Tiger will defend his Masters title, and if young golfers like Matthew Wolff and Collin Morikawa have it in them to make history this Sunday in their first Masters appearances. Other stories are being told by recent Masters line movement.
Of interest to anyone betting on the Masters is the current form of Bubba Watson , a two-time winner at Augusta. He hits the ball far, and even better, he’s a left-hander who loves fading from the tee box. Watson couldn’t ask for a better setup, and his course history is proof.
After a rough start in 2020, which included a stretch of three consecutive missed cuts, Watson is finding his form just in time for the biggest tournament of the season. A month after a T31 at the U.S. Open, Watson placed 7th and 4th, respectively, at the CJ Cup and ZOZO Championship, doing so with little help from his putter. Watson first gained 11 strokes tee-to-green while losing 1.7 strokes on the green. Then, two weeks ago, he gained nearly eight strokes tee-to-green.
This time last week, Brooks Koepka was a Masters afterthought (at least for me). After all, he’s made more noise beefing with DeChambeau than he’s made on the golf course this season. Why the tension between the two? I’m guessing Bryson’s gym etiquette is as bad as his golf etiquette. Whatever the case, the outspoken Koepka clearly isn’t a fan.
CAUTION: Beware Of Tiger.
When it comes to Tiger Woods , 2019 demonstrated why Augusta was still the best place for the big cat to lurk for prey. Woods isn’t as accurate off the tee as he once was, but Augusta allows him to pull the driver out of the bag without too many repurcussions. Unfortunately for golf fans, Tiger has struggled throughout 2020.
He only has one finish inside the top 10, which came in January. His next best finish? 37th at the PGA Championship. He most recently missed the cut at the U.S. Open and finished in front of only three golfers at the ZOZO Championship two weeks ago. The disappointing showings are the results of poor play from every part of his game. In California, he lost 7 strokes tee-to-green, 3.6 off-the-tee, and 4.4. with his approach shots, not to mention an additional 3 three strokes lost on the green. In fact, something seems absolutely wrong with Tiger’s putting right now. He has gained strokes on the green only once in his last seven events. So let’s just be blunt: don’t bet on Tiger this year, bet against him. I’ll be refreshing the golf betting page at online sportsbooks early this week specifically to fade the defending champion.
Speaking of players with putting woes, Morikawa has had a remarkable start to his PGA Tour career in spite of his. The Stanford grad is already one of the best ball strikers on Tour, and he temporarily found his putting stroke on his way to becoming the third youngest golfer to claim the Wanamaker Trophy. There are more major titles in store for the 23-year-old, but with competitors adding more and more distance, the sacred green jacket may be tough come by. He only averages 290 yards off the tee, which is fine when the fairways are thin and the rough is penal. That’s not what he’s getting this week.
Sure, shorter hitters such as Zach Johnson, Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth have found success at Augusta, but this year the course may play softer, thus longer, than previous tournaments. This is Morikawa’s first Masters appearance, and of all tournamanents, experience might be most important at Augusta. Keep in mind, only one golfer has won the Masters on their first try. Unlike Spieth and Johnson, Morikawa isn’t going to keep up with the bombers by consistently rolling in putts. These large sloping greens will haunt Morikawa in his sleep, and you are dreaming if you expect him to learn them overnight.
Who will win the Masters in 2020? Odds, betting favorites, expert picks & more to know.
It may be several months late, but the 2020 Masters is finally here, bringing it with several enticing storylines and betting odds.
That starts with Bryson DeChambeau , the favorite to win at Augusta National Golf Club after his win in the 2020 U.S. Open in September. His power-based approach to the game has been controversial to say the least, but you can't deny its effectiveness in recent outings.
Other golfers to look out for include 2020 FedEx Cup Champion Dustin Johnson, world No. 2 Jon Rahm and, of course, Tiger Woods — the 2019 champion looking for not only his second consecutive Masters win but also his record-tying sixth green jacket.
With that, here's everything you need to know to bet on the 2020 Masters, including odds and past winners:

Tiger enters the 2020 Masters looking for the tournament's first back-to-back championship since he won it all in 2001 and '02. Another win would give him his fifth overall win at Augusta since 2000 (he also won in 2005). Only Phil Mickelson (three) and Bubba Watson (two) have won multiple Masters tournaments since 2000.
