Teens arrested after M69 crash following police chase
Two teenage boys have been arrested after a crash following a police chase on the M69
yesterday.
Leicestershire Police said officers were involved with an "authorised pursuit" of a stolen
vehicle at about 15:45 on Monday.
The car came off the motorway at junction 2 and "collided with street furniture on
the roundabout", the force added.
The M69 was closed in both directions between junctions 1 and 2 following the crash
and later reopened.
Police said the occupants of the car, two boys aged 13 and 17, sustained injuries
not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing and were taken to hospital.
They were both arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle.
No other injuries have been reported to police and no other vehicles were involved
in the crash.
