Abkhazia has established diplomatic relations with the Donetsk People's Republic (TNR), reports TASS.
"On March 9, 2022, the Republic of Abkhazia and the Donetsk People's Republic established diplomatic relations through the exchange of notes," the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry noted that both republics "support the course of the Russian Federation aimed at demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine." Currently, Abkhazia and others are preparing a draft treaty of friendship and cooperation.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). On February 24, Russia launched a special operation on the territory of Ukraine.
