The creation of the fourth-generation F-15EX Advanced Eagle fighter, called an analogue of the Russian fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft, may be the biggest mistake of the US Air Force (Air Force), writes the American magazine The National Interest.
According to the publication, the most advanced modification of the F-15 Eagle will not withstand the impact of modern Russian and Chinese surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles. The reason for this in the magazine is that the F-15EX Advanced Eagle does not use stealth technology.The National Interest recalls that the new fighter can carry up to 22 air-to-air missiles.
"It does not matter how many missiles the F-15EX can carry if it does not last long enough to use them," the newspaper writes, noting that the American fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter in "beast mode", which involves the loss of stealth, can carry up to 16 such missiles.
